Setting Whether to Match the Printed Side for One-Sided and Two-Sided Printing

To "Settings/Registration Table"

When using paper for which you have to consider which side is the front side, such as paper with a logo printed on it, you can specify [Print Side Priority], which enables you to print the first page on the front side of the paper for both one-sided and two-sided printing, without having to change the orientation of the paper.

To achieve the above printing results, set the paper orientation as indicated below.

Remark
  • If [Print Side Priority] is selected for a paper source, and [Paper Drawer Auto Selection On/Off] in [Function Settings] (Settings/Registration) is set to 'On', the Automatic Paper Selection and Automatic Drawer Switching settings are ignored. Also, the machine's printing speed may become slower when you print one-sided documents.
  • You can only print with the [Print Side Priority] settings when the following paper is loaded. The message <Load paper.> appears and the paper is not fed, or the [Print Side Priority] settings are disabled.
  • Paper size: 305 x 457 mm, A3, B4, A4, A4R, B5, or A5R
  • 52 to 209 g/m2
  • Paper type: Thin, Plain, Color, Recycled, Heavy, Bond, Pre-punched (A4 or A4R only)

  1. Press (Settings/Registration) → [Function Settings] → [Common] → [Paper Feed Settings] → [Feed Method Switch].
  1. Select [Speed Priority] or [Print Side Priority] for each paper source → press [OK].
